Hacer Atabaş is a researcher at the Africa Foundation and a PhD candidate in International Relations at Bilkent University. Her doctoral research is focused on the implementation of the Türkiye Scholarships Programme as a development assistance mechanism. She holds a master’s degree from Boğaziçi University’s Ataturk Institute for Modern Turkish History, and an undergraduate degree with a double major in Political Economy and Social Philosophy, and International Relations from Bilgi University. Hacer has recently translated Stanford University scholar Avner Greif’s Institutions and the Path to the Modern Economy into Turkish.
