MEHMET AKİF KİREÇCİ

Mehmet Akif Kireçci is the dean of the School of Political Science at the Social Sciences University of Ankara. Concurrently, he is a board member of the Fulbright Commission in Turkey, and the Deputy Chairperson of the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO. Prof. Kireçci was also a Marie Curie fellow. He has taught, researched and published on geopolitics, modernisation and cultural transformations in the Middle East, Turkish foreign policy, Ottoman diplomacy, 19th century history, orientalism, intellectual movements, Islam, history of science and technology, and the internationalisation of education.
